2016 Chairman of the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce and owner of Minuteman Press, Mits Arayama, has been a longstanding leader in the Dana Point business community. He has been on the chamber board for over 6 years, serving as treasurer, secretary, and as an ambassador. In 2010 his peers, within the chamber of commerce, elected Minuteman Press as Business of the Year and Mits as Ambassador of the Year.
Prior to coming to Dana Point, Mits worked for 30 years at Nissin, a Japanese food manufacturing company. He worked his way from Marketing Director to CEO of the company. During his tenure, he was responsible for bringing Top Ramen noodles to America! If that wasn’t enough, he brought the frozen burrito to the United States too. Fun fact, during this time he was affectionately known as Mr. Noodle and Mr. Burrito.
After 35 years of saving thousands of college students from starving to death, Mits retired from Nissin. Ten years ago, Mits acquired Minuteman Press and he chose to move to Dana Point because of how much he loves the area. He now runs the franchise with his son Simon and Simon’s girlfriend MaryAnn.
Mits has been married to his wife Hisa for 42 years and they have two children together, Melanie and Simon. In his spare time, Mits is an avid fisherman with wonderful fishing stories.
Mits is both a spirited and effective leader who will continue the strong, successful legacy established by previous Dana Point Chamber of Commerce Chairs. Be sure to attend one of our chamber events this year to meet Mits and grow your business opportunities in 2016.
