The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its recent hire of Vickie McMurchie, who will serve as the Executive Director.
“My priority is our membership businesses,” McMurchie said, “I want to ensure that they understand their benefits of their Chamber membership and recognize that they can turn to our staff for assistance or resources to help their business grow and evolve.”
McMurchie comes to the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce with over 15 years of marketing and event management experience. Most recently, McMurchie worked as the Director of Development at Orange County Academy of Sciences and Arts and as the Marketing and Special Events Manager at the Outlets at San Clemente. This background, along with her previous time as Senior Operations Manager at the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce, will help McMurchie make a smooth transition into her new position as Executive Director.
“I am elated to be returning to the Dana Point Chamber in this new role and to work with the dedicated Chamber and City staff and our passionate Board of Directors to strengthen our local economy, promote the community, and advocate the interests of business,” she said.
McMurchie is looking forward to growing the registration numbers for the Dana Point Turkey Trot and providing our runners with more interactive experiences.
In addition to her prior marketing experience, McMurchie served as Chairperson of the Board for Pet Project Foundation, a fundraising organization of the San Clemente – Dana Point Animal Shelter.
