DANA POINT, Calif. June 3, 2019 Dana Point Harbor Partners, the consortium behind the new $330 million renovation of Dana Point Harbor, has been named presenting sponsor of the 2019 Dana Point Turkey Trot, the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce’s famous Thanksgiving Day charity event. The group will help provide the funds necessary to promote and stage the annual fundraising challenge and expo, which traditionally attracts more than 17,000 participants to Dana Point from throughout the United States.

“The Dana Point Chamber is delighted to have the Dana Point Harbor Partners as this year’s presenting sponsor. It not only shows their commitment to Dana Point, but it also aligns with the mission of the Chamber in being a champion for economic vitality and community engagement,” said Bev Jorgensen, the Chamber’s President and Executive Director.

“We are thrilled to be the new presenting sponsor for the 2019 Dana Point Turkey Trot,” commented Bryon Ward of Dana Point Harbor Partners and President of Burnham Ward Properties (BWP). “Having one of the largest Thanksgiving races in the nation come to the harbor each year means so much to this seaside community and we are proud to be a part of it.”

About the Annual Dana Point Turkey Trot

Produced by the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Run Racing, the Dana Point Turkey Trot is the nation’s sixth largest Thanksgiving Day run in the country. Named a “Top Thanksgiving Destination” by Fodor’s Travel and one of America’s “Best Thanksgiving Runs” by Fitness Magazine, the Dana Point Turkey Trot has become an Orange County tradition for friends and family in its 5K, 10K and Kids’ Gobble Wobble runs, as well as its two-day Health & Wellness Expo. In 2018, runners from all 50 states were represented.

“People plan their vacations to come to Dana Point to run in the Turkey Trot every year, as well as a few elite runners from other countries,” said Jorgensen. “But having local families in the region come and ‘run the race before they stuff their face’ every Thanksgiving — some in their costumes — is what really makes it such a desired race on an early morning in the stunning Dana Point Harbor.”

Featuring scenic routes through the picturesque Dana Point Harbor and Doheny State Beach, the Turkey Trot offers something for every member of the family. Since its conception, the Dana Point Turkey Trot has raised over half a million dollars for local nonprofits. The Dana Point Turkey Trot is a USA Track & Field (USATF) sanctioned and certified event.
