2019 Citizen of the Year: Mike Killebrew

Congratulations to the 2019 Citizen of the Year, Mike Killebrew.

Each year the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce honors an individual whose efforts in the areas of community service and philanthropy have significantly impacted the quality of life in Dana Point.

In addition to performing his duties as the City of Dana Point’s assistant manager, Mike has proven himself to be a leader in the community. He is very active in the community and volunteers for a number of non-profits and other organizations.

Mike is President of the Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club, leads and facilitates fundraising and outreach efforts for the VFW Post 9934, Marine Corp League – South Coast Detachment 22, Boys and Girls Club, and Dana Hills High School youth programs.

He has also been a tremendous help with Festival of Whales, Dana Point Art Festival, Lantern District Car Show, Senior Center Thanksgiving Dinner, Hobie Memorial Foundation, Fish For Life and so many more organizations and events.

Mike works for the City, but he’s a part of the City. Past Citizen of the Year recipients and members of the community speak very highly of Mike. He is an outstanding person and goes above and beyond his call of duty.

We cannot thank him enough for his amazing efforts and positive attitude.
