The City of Dana Point is served by the Capistrano Unified School District (CUSD). In partnership with members of the community, the mission of CUSD is to assist students in realizing their full potential as responsible, productive, contributing members of society. In this school system, students are challenged, excellence is expected, and differences are valued. CUSD is committed to the education and success of more than 50,000 students in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade at 58 school sites. 40 CUSD schools are designated California Distinguished Schools. The district spans 195 square miles and is the largest employer in South Orange County, with more than 4,400 full- and part-time employees.
